Tina Nalls
Council At-Large
Tina Nalls has been an educator, leader, advocate, and caregiver of her Jersey City community for over 28 years. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Community Treasures, a 501(c)3 that provides free clothing and other essentials to Jersey City residents in need of support.
In her outreach role at Jerry Walker’s organization, Team Walker Inc., Tina helps unhoused residents find a safe place to live. She also serves as an Aide to Councilman Frank Gilmore of Ward F, and can be seen speaking up for her community at City Council meetings every other Wednesday.
A proud graduate of Snyder High School, Tina stayed in Jersey City to raise her family of three children. Now that her youngest is away at college, she is ready to devote even more of her time and energy to building and protecting our city. Tina and her husband are grandparents of two little ones.
To be with Tina on the streets of Jersey City is to see how much she has nurtured and supported her community. A constant stream of people of all ages greets her, stopping to talk and often to thank her for her contributions. She brings positivity, faith, and love to her mission every day.
Now, more than ever, Tina recognizes a need for public service in the face of new threats to our people. She is determined to deliver what Jersey City’s leadership has long neglected; adequate resources and care for our most vulnerable communities. Tina and her partners and associates have been working to protect and serve our seniors, children, our wildlife and our companion pets alike.
